Children’s & Youth Work!

As well as a range of mentoring, volunteering & accreditation schemes for young people, being part of the Filton Twinning Association, and offering packages of small group work and activities in and out of schools, this is the regular children’s and youth work programme that we provide:

Mondays:

MESSY HANDS 10-11.30am throughout the year – except Bank Holidays – A messy play sensory session for children under 5 years of age. Making sense of the world through messy sensory play; Leave the messy with us! £3 per child (siblings £2). Under 8s siblings welcome during school holidays. Held at St Andrews Methodist Church Hall, Elm Park, Filton, BS34 7PS. Funded by BBC Children in Need. Contact emma@facefilton.org.uk for more details.

STEP UP Independence skills group for 15-18 year olds with learning / social disabilities – see the ‘disabilities’ page for more details.

Tuesdays:

Occasional evening youth activities dependent on funding – contact us for details, or look on our Facebook page for more information about any current activities.

STAR KIDS youth club at The Stokes Youth Centre – see the ‘disabilities’ page for more details.

Wednesdays:

6.30-8.30pm Youth club for School Year 8+ (12-19yrs). The latest programme can be downloaded here:

Ignite Thursdays:

5.30-7pm ‘Bright Sparks’ youth club for 9-17 yrs with mild learning/social or physical disabilities, anxiety, or autistic spectrum disorders.

Fridays:

3.45-4.40pm Street dance for 8-14 yrs (£4) term-time only.

Our activity programmes are published in January, April, and September and we also have a full summer holidays activity programme which comes out in late June; please see the links above or ask the office for details of our latest programmes!

Plus we also do lots of community activities, fundraising events, evening trips for all groups, and weekends away throughout the year!
