Bristol Autism Project provides family holiday activities for children and young people aged 4-18 years with Autism Spectrum Conditions and their siblings who live in Bristol. Families must live in an address in the Bristol Local Authority area to access this service OR they may have a child that attends a special school in Bristol OR be under the care of Bristol Social Care team but live outside Bristol.
BAP runs free activities Mondays-Fridays in the school holidays, with some activities targeted at 11+ age group and some at under 11 years.
We are pleased that FACE will be supporting Bristol City Council’s ‘Bristol Autism Project’ holiday activities with staffing for their holiday activity schemes 2018-2020. There will then be a tender process for a new contract starting 2020. We will keep you updated as we hear more.
FACE is hosting free coffee mornings at their youth centre in Filton for parents or carers of children with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) who would like to attend Bristol Autism Project in the school holidays – or just want to find out more.
The next one will be on: Wednesday 13th November 10am-12pm. Due to survey feedback, we will also be holding an evening session on Tuesday 19th November 7-8.30pm.
These informal events give the members an opportunity to meet other parents/ carers over a cup of coffee (or tea) with an optional sweet treat and share their thoughts, stories and experiences. They are also able to get to know the FACE staff and make bookings for the next holidays.
Lots of fun free activities will be on offer for children and their families through the school holidays supported by FACE on these dates:
28th October – 1st November 2019, 23rd December 2019 – 3rd Jan 2020 (excl bank holidays on 25/26th and 1st), and 17th – 23rd Feb 2020 (Provision beyond that date is yet to be finalised)
Please see newsletter and booking information for the next holidays which is sent to all members a month before the activity programme begins.
There is an online booking form which needs to be completed to book any of these activities. You must be already registered with BAP to book. The online form can be accessed via the link in the booking information sent to families.
We will not be able to accept bookings unless they are on the online form (or via a paper version of it, if requested from the office).
Sadly we will not be putting our programme online anymore as some people turned up without booking or without registering with BAP during the summer 2019.
We are also recruiting support staff please see details here and pass on to anyone you think might be interested in working with us: BAP recruitment poster
