Duke of Edinburgh’s awards

girls silver assessed 2014

We run Duke of Edinburgh’s awards for young people aged 14+yrs!

This is a photo of our last Silver group at the end of their Assessed expedition, enjoying a much-needed drink and cake on the Malverns!

DofE is great for young people to make new friends, learn new skills and develop independence skills and confidence. It’s also great for CVs and to prove to employers that you have the determination and motivation to put in extra effort and see something through to the end!

The award is made up of 4 parts: Volunteering, Skills, Physical & Expedition, and young people aged 14-23 can enter the award at bronze, silver or gold. We deliver both bronze and silver awards from our centre when there are enough people interested to make a group (6+ people needed).

There is a small enrolment fee to pay to join the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and get set up on the e-dofe system (currently £20) and a fee to pay to us for delivering the whole of the expedition section (currently £70, this includes booking campsites, transport, and hire of tents/trangias, maps, etc). We can work with you to help groups raise funds as part of their ‘Volunteering’ section towards the cost of the expedition if this is a barrier.

We can provide you with all the support and guidance to make sure you succeed!

We always welcome new members from around the local area to join our DofE awards groups! Come and see us or get in touch to find out more!

Please contact emma@facefilton.org.uk  if you’d like to express interest in joining a DofE group at FACE!

Raven Fencing Club have previously done awards for DoE participants and wonder whether any of your young people would like to consider fencing as part of their programme. We operate at Patchway Community Centre on Friday nights, 7:30-9:30pm. Cost for juniors is £4.00 per night and £5.00 for senior with all equipment and kit available for their use.
